Hyperscale colocation 2N UPS and generator plant
Full electrical build-out of a 3.2 MW colocation facility: medium-voltage utility tie, 2N double-conversion UPS, paralleled standby generation and overhead busway to four data halls.

The service voltages, equipment ratings, protective functions and codes this project was built and tested against.
The specific electrical solutions we used.
How each design decision solved a real constraint on this project — from redundancy and coordination to protection and commissioning.
2N topology with paralleled generation
Two independent UPS strings and two paralleled 2 MW gensets give every rack two power paths; a single string or generator can be taken offline for maintenance without dropping load.
Selective coordination to 100kAIC
Time-current curves were layered so the upstream main clears before downstream feeders, keeping an upstream fault from blacking the whole facility while still meeting 100kAIC interrupt ratings.
Overhead busway instead of cable trays
400A tap-box busway lets tenants add or move circuits without a shutdown; in-row 60 kVA PDUs meter each branch so billing ties to actual rack draw.
TIA-942 signal reference grid
A 5Ω signal reference grid and lightning protection system bond every rack, tray and pipe to a single reference, eliminating ground loops that corrupt serial links to the CRAC units.
